Fitness Friday

During my Whole30 I haven't had the best energy levels but knew I needed to be moving my butt in order to drop some weight. I thought if I shared it here I could keep myself accountable.

I have made it a full week of 4am workouts, even though it has been hard on my body, I am pushing through. I chose 4am because I watch my cousin during the day and those days can get very long. It can become very easy to just skip it if it's at the end of a 12 hour day, but if it's the reason you are getting up then it's a little easier to pull off.

Monday = I did 1 mile on the treadmill then did this Zombie workout twice and then jumped back on the treadmill for 2 more miles. When I say treadmill, it is just walking. I tried to be a runner but it did not bring me joy so I wasn't going to force it. I do vary my incline up and down though.

Tuesday = I did a half hour on the treadmill and then I did this workout. I was having internet issues, my wifi doesn't reach my basement and is moody sometimes, so I only got 20 mins of this workout completed. It's a good one I will reuse.

Wednesday = I was so tired today! I almost shut my alarm off. This was a sore day. All the incline on the treadmill had started to wear on my ankles, but I got up and at it. I did a half hour on the treadmill and then this workout. Since I have a punching bag now I figured before I get some gloves I can get some practice in. This was a nice little workout but probably won't make the cut.

Thursday = Another hard day to get out of bed. Ever muscle in my body is killing me but I did it. Today I just did 3 miles on the treadmill and some weights. I just didn't have it in me to try anything harder.

Friday = Today I just did a repeat of Monday but I added an extra set after my 2 miles. I am feeling this week in my legs!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! and find a reason to move a little :)

T-minus one week

This will be my last thankful Thursday post before the holiday. I truly believe that we should be thankful every day that we wake up in the morning, but in November there is more of a focus on it. If you want to see what other things I am thankful for there is this post or this post.

My Mantel

I am thankful for my family. There are so many definitions of family in this day and age. I to do not have the typical family but am so thankful for the one I can call that.

I don't have a whole big list of why family is important and that you should be thankful for, whatever form you have. I just thought I would share my thoughts on this topic before we celebrate one of the many holidays we tend to spend with our families.

A family is suppose to provide unconditional love and support. If that is not the case then keep searching. You were not put on this earth to be alone. Yes, were sent here with a certain family for whatever reason, but I believe that there are many possibilities out in the world.

I found this cute Pin on Thanksgiving and wanted to share it.

I also created this Thanksgiving day menu on PicMonkey but I haven't gotten the whole sharing printables down yet so if you want to save the picture to print out, feel free.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday in whatever form that is. I myself will be having my in-laws over for some turkey. I tried to talk them into ordering a pizza but it didn't work.

Transformation Tuesday

Projects, I love a good project

So this past week I was full of ideas and once I start I try to finish. My bedroom has been changed so the art did not really fit anymore. What's a girl to do but get on Pinterest and find something. I tried to go find something at the store but I am kind of picky when it comes to my surroundings.

I did not find anything at any of the local stores that were under 75$ and that is crazy for a piece of art. I wasn't going to jump on the band wagon of scrapbook flowers on canvas but I finally couldn't come up with anything else so here Is the final product.

Project number two was a mail organizer. Since the week before I had made one for my daughter, I wanted to make one for myself. I had an organizer that my father-in-law made for my husband years ago, but it was way to small for most of our mail. The standard mail is not your normal letter size. They have to mail you enough junk that it fills a folder.

So I took apart the old one (which I forgot to take a picture of!) and started to create my own. I feel bad for destructing something someone else made but at least I used some of it instead of just throwing it away.

It is not the most fancy thing or is it put together as well as it could've been but it serves it's purpose and is kind of cute.

The Rhino is my hubbies key holder and I'm the Elephant. A place for my sunglasses, which I have to have ALL the time. The front is chalkboard so I can change the words when ever I want. The sides are the original pieces.

Lastly I had all white cupboards in my kitchen but after a few years and 3 animals later, they needed a new coat, but not white. What color was pretty simple, dark. That's all we knew, but then we painted the bedroom and one of the colors was pretty dark and I only used half the gallon so I dumped in some black to make it darker and this is the finally product.

I clearly have to much time on my hands, haha. I have a couple other projects in the works and will post them next week. I hope this gives someone some inspiration.

Whole30 R2 D23

With the end so close I wanted to share what the timeline says about what you could be experiencing about this time. The Whole30 challenge is such a roller-coaster for some and life saver for others.

I posted the day 16-27 part of the timeline. It seems to cover such a big chunk of time but there is another day posted before the end.

(Interlude) Day 21: I am so over this.

You’ve solidly settled into week three of the program at this point. Your clothes fit better; your skin is clearer; your inner awesomeness is shining through. But despite the many benefits you’re seeing, you went to bed last night dreading the thought of breakfast. You weren’t much more excited about it this morning, either. Come to think of it, you’re not thrilled with any of your meal options right now.  In fact, if Iron Chef Bobby Flay were to walk into your kitchen right now and offer to cook you any Whole30 compliant meal you wanted, you’re not even sure you could think of one. Just about anything sounds like more fun than sitting down to a big plate of Whole30 grub.  You’re loving the way your body is responding to the program, but you’re just not sure if you can make it through 9 more days. And if you see even one more egg, you are going to scream.
Somewhere in the third week of the program, serious food boredom sets in. For some folks, it gets so overwhelming that they lose their appetite altogether for a few days. Don’t let the food fatigue overtake you – plan ahead! Get to work in week two and hunt down some new recipes to keep the fire burning! Find inspiration from our recent meal plan round-up, cruise the Whole30 section of Chowstalker or The Foodie, or pick up a new cookbook (like Well Fed 2…wink wink, nudge nudge). Find some exotic produce in the grocery store, try some exotic recipes – do whatever you can to get over this little speed bump. Being bored and hungry is just a recipe for disaster, and this, too, shall pass.

I post this one because I may be on day 23 but I am so feeling like this, minus the better fitting clothes and clear skin. My skin is still full of acne and my clothes do not fit any looser than before.

Trying to meal plan for this last week has been hard. I am so over cooking and cleaning, oh and cutting and peeling!

The egg line is funny because I have gone through 2 1/2 boxes of eggs between breakfast, hard boiled and random add ins. I am over eggs too.

I hope every ones journey has been a good one.
