April Showers bring.....

Don't you just love when you are getting into bed, almost all comfortable and BAM! a great blog idea pops in your head. It happened with this one the other night so I had to get up and write it down so I wouldn't forget.

I think everyone knows the saying "April Showers bring May Flowers" but what else can April bring?

Well I thought it could bring nice comments to random people so that way it's like watering a flower, come May you may have a blooming relationship.

I created a fun PRINTABLE to remind you of  each day of the week and do them every week of April.

I am so excited to see the results of this. Please leave any fun experiences you have if you take this on, I would love to know how it goes!

Online Safety, Are your passwords good enough?

I am writing this post because I went away for the weekend and left my daughter house sitting, no big deal you think and I agree but she told me that she had no problem getting into my computer because my password was old and predictable. YIKES! Now don't get me wrong, I don't care that she got into my computer it's the fact that she got in so easily and anyone who knows me could probably do the same.

My first thought was "I don't have the best memory, it's just easier to have the same password for everything!" then I was like OK how can I fix this.

This is what I learned. says that your passwords should be a minimum of 14 characters. 14! WOW I don't have a single one that is that long. This post gives you an example of how they come up with passwords that seems hard for me so I will keep looking.

I just have to say that I thought I wasn't very bright, until doing research for this post. There is actually a site called "how secure is your password" and it asks for you to type in your password!! NOT

OK, back to topic. Making sure the password is difficult to guess. You are not suppose to use your animals name because that would be to easy to guess. I do have one of my dogs names in the middle of what I thought was an OK password. (gonna change it)

Connect safely recommends using a phrase as your password. That I think is a good idea, something I might be able to remember.

Cnet answers my remembering all these different passwords that I need to create problem. They are big supporters of a password manager. They have a few apps listed and I think that is what I would have to do. There is no way I can possibly remember over a couple different passwords and especially if they are long and have nothing to do with my animals.

Alright, so what have we learned?

* do NOT use the same password more than once
* make it more than 8 characters with different letters & numbers
* never share your passwords or give them out to unsecure sites
* do NOT make it obvious, nothing personal that's easy to guess

I hope every one is being safe with their online information and if you have any tips, please share.
